Tokyo Marui file seven patents for realistic gun sound system

Could this take realism in airsoft to the next level? At the this years Shizuoka Hobby Show, Tokyo Marui revealed several new products including the 'VSR Pro Hunter' sound system.

The few snippets of information that have been released indicate that it will replicate the realistic sound of gunfire via a discharge sensing system (transceiver) fitted to your airsoft weapon which sends the signal of the discharge to a receiver (shown) which will then emit the sound.

Features include 

• four realistic types of sound (one of which is a silencer discharge sound).
• 30,000 shot battery capacity.
• no signal interference with 999 sound units being able to be used concurrently on the 2.4 GHz waveband.
• four meter range of the transceiver.

While it has only been developed for the VSR-10 at this date, other guns are sure to follow. 

The estimated pre-tax price tag is a hefty 49,800 YEN, which is approximately £320, $490 or 380 EUR, before taxes and import duties. Obviously this product is targeted (pun alert) at the top of the airsoft market at the airsofter with deep pockets.

Tokyo Marui have patents pending in seven jurisdictions.

SOFAT Forum Avatar

Hi Guys, For those of you who have been unable to get a patch just yet, and who still want to rock a SOFAT logo we have produced this smaller digital version that you can use as a forum avatar.

It is the right size and the correct format for you to be able to use without too many IT skills.

I will talk you through how to apply it to the 'Airsofters' forum below.

To do this you will first need to have an user account with the forum.

Step One.

Log in to the forum using your login credentials.

Step Two.

From the menu select QUICK LINKS and then EDIT YOUR DETAILS.

Step Three.

From the left hand side menu select EDIT AVATAR.

Step Four.

Copy the RED text for the Camo choice below.

and paste that text into the textbox shown in this next picture, making sure that first you delete anything that is already in this text box.

Click SAVE CHANGES and you are done.

The SOFAT logo will appear as your avatar.The faint white border is added by the forum software.

An important note on usage. While we don't mind you using the logo at all, please keep in mind that anything you say might be seen as representing SOFAT. SOFAT is a bio-degradable, solar-powered, all-bran eating, equal opportunities, all encompassing love machine. As a rough guide, if whatever you are posting would not be acceptable to your employer's Human Resources Department or tattooed across your forehead, please don't post it using the SOFAT logo or name. Customised name tapes.

We are investigating the possibility of some customised name tapes. If we can have these made they will be in a range of camo patterns and of course contain both your name and the SOFAT logo.

Whether it can be done or not is a long shot, but to wet your whistle here is the example artwork we have submitted for a quote.

Generation two SOFAT logo

This is the new generation two SOFAT logo. The first one was knocked up on the back of a fag packet.

We will use this for patches, etc, from now on.
